Service Description
As Aurora’s Art in Public Places Program turns 30, we will look at the mission and history of the program by exploring the works in the collection which is currently valued at over $4 million. Through this PowerPoint presentation, learn how sites are chosen and about the community-based art selection process. Participants will also view samples of works from the collection and examples of restoration efforts as works age. Course will include ample time for questions and answers. Roberta Bloom is the Cultural Services Manager and Public Art Supervisor for the City of Aurora. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts and has worked as an artist, educator, and program manager for over 40 years. Note: The Southeast Recreation Center is a beautiful new facility with public art. Class meets in the Pikes Peak room. Facility is near Southlands Shopping Mall.
