Service Description

Join us in the conversation of a lifetime. This interactive presentation discusses the emotional journey of a mother and daughter as they talk about aging, dying, and what matters most in the later chapters of life. Our discussion is appropriate for any loving family member – sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, and partners. Patty & Libby will share four themes about aging and its many challenges and joys: • Why this conversation is so important to have with those in your life who provide love and support • How to begin your conversation with family, partners, and friends who might be reluctant or avoidant • Reasons this conversation needs to happen earlier rather than later…before a crisis • Resources to help families learn, plan, and communicate with each other about aging and dying. Libby Bortz is a licensed clinical social worker with a long career as a therapist and involved citizen. The University of Denver awarded her their Lifetime Achievement Award. She also earned recognition as Littleton’s Citizen of the Year. Patty Bortz practiced law early in her career. After raising two children, she transitioned into the nonprofit world, where she has worked to improve Colorado’s public education and later to enrich the lives of seniors.
