Service Description

Railroads were first built in Colorado over 150 years ago. Many of these lines are still active, but over half of this trackage is gone. Where did it go? Ghost railroad lines are all around us. This class will explore these old lines with a pictorial, historical, and enthusiastic presentation from a man who has spent far too much time waiting for a train along with his trusty side kick who was forced to accompany him. We will also demonstrate how you can research your favorite ghost railroad, zombie railroad or active line. Dave and Mary Pieta have lived in Colorado for over 130 years (combined). Dave is a native. They are retired Cherry Creek employees from OHS, ESC and DPG. They have traveled extensively throughout Colorado, and if there is a train or track they have not seen, it is because it hasn't been built yet. All aboard!
