Learn a little history, names of the tiles, how to set up the game, deal, Charleston, and play. Mah Jongg is a tile-based game developed during the 19th century in China. It has since spread throughout the world. Similar to the Western card game Rummy, it is a game of skill, strategy and luck. It is usually played in a group of four. Participants will be required to purchase a current card from the National Mah Jongg League (published annually). Presenter Chris Rupprecht: On her retirement bucket list, Chris wanted to learn Mah Jongg. She has now been playing for over ten years and teaching the game for eight! She loves the skill and luck required in the game. She loves to play, teach and bring the game to more people.
