Join us to learn a little history, names of the tiles, how to set up the game, deal, Charleston, and play. This two-hour class is barely enough to get started. If there is interest, we can follow up with more practice. That's what makes great players. Mahjong (aka mah-jongg) is a tile-based game developed during the 19th century in China. It has since spread throughout the world. Similar to the Western card game Rummy, it is a game of skill, strategy and luck. It is usually played in a group of four.
