Service Description

This course will serve as an introduction to emergency services, and will equip the participant to better understand and work with emergency personnel. Mick will help participants learn strategies to a) prevent some emergencies, b) effectively communicate with a 911 dispatcher should one arise, c) note, collect or provide relevant information, d) bridge the gap before the arrival of emergency personnel. He will share what firefighting really looks like. He may also address fire codes and emergency protocol/procedures for schools. He will bring several CPR mannequins and teach proper chest compression technique for the lay-person, as well as how to use the AED available in general hallways. (This course will not provide CPR certification.) Ample time will be allowed for question and answer. He has responded to thousands of emergency calls for service and has taken over 60,000 hours of advanced training in emergency medical response, search and rescue, emergency preparedness and management, and structural and wildland firefighting. Mick is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience to develop future responders and a better community.
